After launching in March 2023 Oliver Wright’s new label under Objective Media Group, an All3Media Company, has confirmed its name - Coming Up Roses.
Following the new and returning commissions announced in May, Coming Up Roses can now add brand-new four-part commission, Malta: The Jewel of the Med, as well as the fourth series of Secrets of the Royal Palaces to its roster.
Malta: The Jewel of the Med will celebrate the life, culture, and beauty of one of Europe’s most astonishing countries. From the bustling capital of Valletta to the charming fishing village of Marsaxlokk, the 4x60 observational documentary for Channel 5 will explore every aspect of Malta and meet the colourful characters — both British and Maltese — who live there.
Building on the ratings and critical success of the first three Channel 5 series, Secrets of the Royal Palaces
returns with an order of 4x60 new episodes and 4x60 reversions. Back with brand new stories, from revelations concerning the Queen’s funeral and Charles’s coronation to more shocking ancient Royal dramas including the revolting truth behind the burial of William the Conqueror and the deeply suspicious death of King Henry the Sixth. In a colourful new strand, the series will also explore the secrets and scandals of Royal visits to beautiful foreign Royal Palaces from Versailles to the Imperial Palaces Tokyo.
Coming Up Roses, which comprises of Wright, Executive Producer Harriet Scott, and Production Executive Andrew Nelson, will continue to develop and produce high quality factual series and documentaries.
Oliver Wright said: “Coming Up Roses has had a wonderful start with an incredible five commissions in as many months - we really couldn’t think of a better name to encapsulate the drive, energy, passion and positive nature of our teams and the wonderful series they create.”
Malta: The Jewel of the Med was commissioned for Channel 5 by Kate Ansell, with Susan Crook serving as series producer. Secrets of the Royal Palaces was commissioned by Adrian Padmore and Series Producer is Ben Kelly. Oliver Wright, Harriet Scott, and Luke McLaughlin will serve as Executive Producers across the new commissions with Andrew Nelson as Production Executive across both.
